Service Coordinator – Adolescents and Adults 

  • Case-managed 80 developmentally disabled adults and children, coordinating care between multiple agencies. 
  • Collaborated with new agencies to develop services in the Tahoe Basin such as independent living services and potential day programs.
  • Advocated for clients in the justice system, acting as a bridge between families, clients, and their attorneys.

  • Developed curriculum and innovative approaches to work with native groups, ELL and migrant populations, at-risk youth, and other marginalized populations.
  • Collaborated with correction personnel to provide education and transition services to inmates.

2018 – 2020 

Yukon Flats School District – Fort Yukon, AK

English Teacher: Grades 8 – 10 & Vocational Education Instructor 

  • Developed and implemented an English curriculum for grades 8 – 12 that aligned with Alaska State Standards. 
  • Collaborated with the Biology Department of the University of Alaska, Anchorage to develop student research projects on ANWR.
  • Created a media program from scratch that was implemented throughout the entire district. 
  • Wrote and implemented curriculum for three media classes, as well as a photography elective. 
  • Retained the services of industry professionals as vocational education instructors. 
  • Worked in conjunction with grant writers to implement a fifty thousand dollar budget in the creation of the media program. 
  • Engaged multiple villages in distance education using video teleconferencing.  
  • Planned and implemented an out-of-state field trip to Los Angeles for high-performing students in the media program.  
  • Engaged partners in California to develop a series of educational events including a campus tour of Chapman University and other educational experiences. 

2016-2018 

Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District – Fairfield, CA

English & Social Studies Teacher: Grades 8 – 10 

  • Taught 10th Grade World Civilizations and 9th/10th Grade English. 
  • Collaborated with colleagues to create a variety of interventions for students at all levels, including ESL and Special Education children. 
  • Developed primary source lesson plans for social studies that engage student’s interest and support literacy across content areas.
